Short Cut Black Forest Cake

what you need
- 1 box dark chocolate cake mix
- 2 tablespoons Kirsh (cherry brandy) optional
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 1-2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Chocolate shavings to garnish

Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish. Prepare chocolate cake according to directions on box. After baking, let cake cool completely.
With the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes randomly into top of cake. If using, sprinkle Kirsh over top of cake. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over top of cake.
In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until nice and fluffy. Spread evenly over the cherry pie filling. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
