what you need
- 2 1/2 cups flour (self-rising)
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
make it
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and flour a 13x9" cake pan. Sift all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together, then add the milk, vanilla and the eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix until well blended.
Pour into a 13x9" pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.
Notes
This is a simple and delicious cake, and needs no icing other than a dusting of powdered sugar. It is good warm or cold.
