Strawberry Poke Cake

what you need
  • 1 box white or yellow cake mix (and ingredients needed to make cake-different brands vary)
  • 1 box (4 servings) strawberry Jell-O
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 tub (16 oz.) whipped cream topping
  • 1 container fresh strawberries (optional)

Prepare cake as instructed on box, and let cool 30-45 minutes.

Poke holes all over cake with simple butter knife. Prepare Jell-O mix with boiling water until dissolved, and then add cold water. Pour entire contents of Jell-O mix on top of cake.

Then place cake in refrigerator for approx. 1 hour. Then top with whipped cream. Slice strawberries and place on top (optional).
This recipe can be made with any flavor Jell-O and matching fruit...strawberry is most popular in my family! Good luck and good eats!

Rated  by nulungs95 on 5/18/2006 I love this recipe. I ate it as a kid and it is great on a hot summer day. I make the frosting different by using 1envelope of Dreamwhip and 1 (4oz-serving)envelope of pudding with 1 1/2 cup of milk. I love it with lime jello too!
