what you need
  • Crust:
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • Pudding layer:
  • 3 cups milk, divided
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 3 small pkgs. Jell-O Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding (or 2 large)
  • Topping:
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip
  • Grated chocolate for garnish
make it
Bring margarine and water to a boil in saucepan. Remove from heat. Add flour and stir until spoon becomes clean and dough rolls into a ball. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in well. Spread into a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

Pudding Layer:
Mix ¼ cup milk with cream cheese in small bowl. Stir until smooth. Set aside. Mix instant pudding with remaining milk in larger bowl. Fold in cream cheese mixture. Spread over cooled crust.

Spread Cool Whip on top of pudding mixture. Sprinkle grated chocolate on top of Cool Whip.
I usually make this the night before a dinner and freeze. At potluck dinners, it can sit out without becoming runny this way and still be thawed by dessert.
