Texas Hot Sauce

what you need
  • 2 lb. ground hamburger (80% fat)
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 4 slices piccalilly peppers, chopped
  • 1 bottle (12 oz.) catsup
  • 6 oz. (1/2 of 12 oz. bottle) Frank’s Hot Sauce
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • Salt/pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. hot chili peppers
make it
Put hamburger in a large frying skillet. Add 1 Tbsp. olive oil and crumble hamburger with a fork or a potato masher. Fry till just done. Set aside.

In another skillet add 1 Tbsp. olive oil, the chopped onions and picalilly peppers. Fry till the onions caramelize.

Add onion mixture to skillet with hamburger. Add remaining ingredients and let cook till it starts to thicken.
Serve as a topping for hot dogs with finely chopped onions and mustard on a hot dog bun or put in freezer containers, to serve when you want it.
