Texas Lasagna

what you need
  • 2 lb. ground beef or turkey
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 pkg. (2 cups) Kraft Shredded Cheddar Cheese + 1 cup
  • 1 pkg. (2 cups) Kraft Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 jars spaghetti sauce
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked or no-cook style
make it
1. Brown ground beef, pepper and onion in a medium skillet until beef is done.
2. While browning, mix cheese together in a large bowl, reserve 1 cup.
3. Drain fat, mix with spaghetti sauce.
4. Start with a layer of lasagna noodles in an 8x13 baking dish.
5. Spoon some of the meat mixture over noodles.
6. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes and 1 cup cheese.
7. Cover with a layer of noodles.
8. Repeat with meat mixture, cheese and tomatoes, creating lasagna.
9. Cover top of lasagna with cheese and bake at 350 for 20 min. or until cheese melts. Serve slightly cooled.
This recipe contains no ricotta cheese and it is super flavorful. It is a winner in our family and our teenagers eat it with hot sauce!
