what you need
- 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
make it
Stir together margarine and sugar in mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well with spoon. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; beat until well blended. If desired, stir in nuts.
Spoon into a greased 9 inch square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes or until brownies springs back when touched lightly in center. Cool completely, frost, if desired.
Notes
Double this recipe and bake 30-35 minutes in a 9x13 baking pan.
