what you need
- 2 cups Crisco, melted and cooled
- 2 cups milk
- 8 cups flour
- 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 eggs, well beaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons Anise extract or Pure anisette liquor
- Frosting Glaze:
- 2 lb. confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoons anise extract
- about a cup of milk, a little at a time, just enough to make it loose (For a thin glaze)
- Separate into a few different bowls and add food coloring. I like red and green
- You can add sprinkles if you like
- I like them with just the red and green colors.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt Crisco and let cool. When cooled, add milk. In a large bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt and set aside.
Beat eggs and add sugar. Pour the egg mixture into the Crisco and milk, then into the flour mixture. Mix all ingredients together till combined. Form into small balls.
Bake 10-12 minutes, very lightly browned at the bottom. Don't over bake.

This is a great holiday cookie. Everyone loves them.
