Todd's Hidden Mushroom Swiss Burgers

what you need
  • Burger Ingredients:
  • 2.5 lb. ground beef
  • 1/8 cup red cooking wine (burgundy)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup A.1. Steak Sauce
  • 1/4 cup chipotle Tabasco sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire (approx.)
  • 1-2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2-1 Tbsp. onion powder or use minced onions
  • 2 Tbsp. Sauer's Hamburger Seasoning
  • Dash of salt and pepper
  • Sauteed Mushroom Ingredients:
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pre-sliced mushrooms of your choice
  • 1/2-1 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 6 rolls

Start grill. Mix all burger ingredients in a large bowl, mix with hands, then chill in fridge.

Heat butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Saute mushrooms until crisp. Cool. Chop and set aside.

Pat out patties to thin like (2 per burger). On 1 patty place mushrooms and shredded Swiss in middle then top with the 2nd patty. Pinch sides and seal edges. Shape patties. Do all patties like above.

Grill until desired doneness. Add sliced cheese. Toast bun or rolls, if desired. Add topping of your choice!!!
Notes
This works with bacon and other stuffing of choice!!!

I have 6 kids and I can even get my kiddos to enjoy the Hidden Surprise!!!
