Makes: 6 servings Total Time: 20 min
Category: Sauces/Marinades Sub Category: Sauces and Marinades

what you need
  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 sm. onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
make it
Brown hamburger and onion.

Combine dry ingredients and stir into cooked meat mixture. Add water and simmer until thickened.

Serve over hot dogs or on broiled franks.
Prepare in advance to take to barbeques. Adds a little spark to those tailgate broiled hot dogs.

This was a recipe my mother worked on for years trying to get it "just like they served on the Boardwalk during the war".
