Whipping Cream Pound Cake

what you need
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 3 cups plain flour (not sifted)
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream
  • 2 tsp. flavoring
  • 6 large or jumbo eggs
make it
Cream sugar and butter until light, Add flour alternately with cream. Add flavoring. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Pour batter into a large tube pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Notes
Christmas 2003 I tried Splenda instead of sugar and the cake came out dry.

Baking time may be less depending on oven used. I baked for 1 hour and started testing with toothpick until cake was done.

I used land o lakes butter. I let the butter set at room temperature until soft, before I started.
