  • 1. Put yeast in warm water. Let stand 5 minutes or until foamy.
  • 2. Add yeast, salt and sugar in mixer bowl.
  • 3. Add beaten egg beat.
  • 4. Add flour a little at a time as you beat on low speed on your mixer until dough begins to come away from the sides of bowl.
  • 5. Put on your dough hook and kneed for about 8 minutes (or kneed by hand) until dough is elastic and easy to handle.
  • 6. Place in a large oiled bowl and cover loosely. Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • 7. Punch down and let dough rest for 10 minutes. Roll into a rectangle (9x15 inches). Brush melted butter over the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • 8. Roll up from long end (jelly roll style) and cut into 12 equal pieces. Put each piece (cut side down) in pan. Cover and let rise.
  • 9. Bake at 350 until lightly brown.


My granddaughter won a rosette at the county fair in Three Rivers, Texas with this recipe. She is 9 years old. She sold her pan of cinnamon rolls for $1500 at auction the next day. Quite a boost to the old college fund.
