  • Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large skillet melt butter. Add onion. Cook until bubbly. Add flour and mix well. Cook mixture until bubbly - about 2-3 minutes over med-low heat. Whisk in broth. Stir well. Add milk. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens. Add chicken to sauce. Stir well.
  • Pour chicken mixture into a 2 qt casserole dish or 13x9 baking dish. Cook for 30 minutes until edges begin to bubble and center is hot.
  • Remove from oven and unroll crescents. Seal seams together to fit the top of the chicken.
  • Return to oven until crust is golden brown. Approx. 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven. Let stand 5-10 minutes. Serve with veggies or by itself.


If using puff pastry- while chicken is baking- roll out puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Using a biscuit cutter make as many circles as you can fit on a cookie sheet. Brush with melted butter, if desired. When chicken is done turn oven to 400°F and bake until puffed and golden. Serve 2 on each plate and top with chicken mixture.
