  • Mix coconut, slivered almonds, brown sugar, plain flour, and melted butter. Spread out on cookie sheet and brown in 325 degrees F oven for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix vanilla instant pudding mix and sweet milk. Beat until thick. Fold into Cool Whip. Cool.
  • Spread 1/2 of browned almond mix in bottom of long Pyrex baking dish or oblong pan (reserve the rest). Pour pudding in and then spread rest of topping on. Chill for 4 hours or longer.

It was my first time making it and it came out perfect, I didn't use cajeta because it's too sweat so I make it with Sugar & Water like the recipe calls for. The only thing that I didn't new was if I had to make the water bath with really hot water or not so I just used hot water but not to the point were it was boiling just hot.

I didn't have a 12 cup tube so I made one tube cake and another smaller round cake (I'm uploading both pictures). My husband and kids finished the smaller cake in 10 mins!! And my husband who normally doesn't like or eat cake, said - "this one is good!" :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The flan moves to the bottom of the pan during baking. The flan moves to the bottom of the pan during baking. Because the cake mix rises while baking, this allows for the flan to sink to the bottom of the pan. You put it on the top to start because it is lighter than the cake mix. This will prevent the layers from being mixed.

I made this cake for a winery club pick up party to compliment their 'Blackberry Bliss' dessert wine - absolutely perfect pairing. The cake is delicious! Just noticed Kraft has changed the recipe since I first started making it. Haven not made this version yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love, love, love this cake! We love, love, love this cake!! We have made this cake on several occassions and everyone loves it! One caution though..always make sure to leave it in the fridge at least 2 hours otherwise, it will flop! Me encanta este chocoflan!
