  • Boil water for lasagna noodles. Meanwhile, brown ground beef and Italian sausage; drain. Add garlic, parsley, salt, basil, tomatoes, and tomato paste; bring to a boil and lower to a simmer for 30 min; boil noodles as directed.
  • Meanwhile, place cottage cheese, eggs, pepper, and parmesan in a medium size bowl, and beat with electric hand blender until smooth.
  • In a large casserole dish spoon out a little beef mixture in dish, place noodles on top, and layer beef mixture, cottage cheese mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Top with noodles and repeat layers.
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Special Equipment Needed


My family has used this recipe for years, and we love it! You can substitute cottage cheese with ricotta cheese, and for more sauciness increase whole tomatoes if desired. I serve this dinner with a green salad and garlic bread.
