  • If you are using raw veggies, then you will want to boil them in salt water until soft. Drain.
  • Put 2 cans of beef broth in a medium to large pot and add the water. Add the veggies (doesn't matter what you use, I used a combo of raw broccoli and cauliflower, frozen Brussels sprouts and canned mixed veggies) and bring to a boil. Add spices and let simmer for half hour over medium heat.
  • While veggies are cooking, prepare the dumplings - Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Work butter into flour mixture, and then add egg, mix, and then add milk. Stir with spoon until all flour is mixed well.
  • Take a small amount in your hand and roll it into a ball. Repeat until dough is all rolled into balls, or use what you want and refrigerate the rest.
  • You may also roll dough out and cut into squares. You can only refrigerate this for 3 days, and then it must be discarded.
  • Drop dough balls into boiling broth 8 to 10 minutes. Serve hot as soon as dumplings are done. Enjoy!


You may add any type of meat to this recipe. However, I would suggest that if you decide to use poultry, that you replace the beef broth with chicken broth.
