I got this recipe from my Aunt many years ago, it is a staple at all our family gatherings. There is never any left! I have served it at Christmas, Easter, graduation parties and most importantly at summer picnics. It is a great side dish with baked ham. You can leave the bacon off for vegetarians.
It is so easy to make. Very little prep and clean up. I have also used frozen chopped onion, so you don't even have to cut anything. Also, bacon that is already cooked.
