  • Preheat oven to 375. Cut the three slices of thick sliced bacon in small pieces. In a small skillet saute bacon until gold brown and crispy.
  • Cut off the red casing from the Gouda cheese. Place the cheese in the center for the puff pastry. Cover with cooked bacon and brown sugar.
  • Fold each end of the puff pastry in to form a packet. Place in the center of a baking sheet. Beat egg with a small amount of water to make an egg wash. Brush the top of the puff pastry packet with the egg wash.
  • Place in oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
