  • Prepare cake mix as directed, bake, and cool to room temperature. Quarter bananas, add lemon juice, and set aside.
  • Prepare instant vanilla pudding as directed. Add cream cheese to pudding mixture and blend well till smooth. Stir quartered bananas into pudding mixture.
  • Slice cooled cake in half. Add a layer 1/2 of the pudding mixture on top of the halved cake top with 1/2 of the Cool Whip. Place other half of the cake on top. Add the remaining pudding. Top with the remaining Cool Whip top with the chopped walnuts.

Notes

Jell-O instant banana cream pudding may be substituted in place of the vanilla pudding if desired. Refrigerate until ready to serve. May be served immediately if desired. Refrigerate remaining cake.
