  • 1. Spray skillet with butter flavored non-stick spray and place on burner at med heat.
  • 2. Beat milk and egg together then pour into shallow dish. Individually soak each slice of bread on both sides in mixture then place in skillet.
  • 3. Allow to cook on med/high heat for 3-5 minutes. Turn slices over midway thru cooking time or until lightly golden brown.
  • 4. Place french toast slices on plate and cut diagonally, set aside.
  • 5. In same skillet put butter or margarine and syrup and let melt. Then add banana slices and stir until heated and bananas are tender (about 2 min. Then pour over French toast and serve immediately.


My child loves this once a week as a special treat but it's easy enough to do even on a busy morning. Older children can do this recipe very easily. You can make up your own variations instead of banana like 1/2 cup cherry pie filling, or apple pie filling. Add whip cream or powdered sugar as extra topping. Make it healthy by using low carb bread/low fat milk/ light syrup with fresh fruit.

    This was soooo good, the bananas added such depth to the flavor. I used egg beaters, ww bread, and sugar free syrup and it was awesome. I only used about 2-3 T syrup but it was for one serving.

    Very quick, easy to make and delicious. I will definately be making this again, especially since my 1 1/2 year old also loved it.
