When broiling the bell pepper, the blacker the better. The skins will be much easier to peel off.
Don't feel that you have to be meticulous in cutting your vegetables to make the dip. The more you chop, the more work you create for yourself. Everything gets pureed in the food processor anyway.
Be careful not to touch the inside of the jalapeno pepper with your fingers. If you accidentally do, wash your hands immediately. It is not harmful, but your fingers will have a burning sensation at the point of contact for a few hours afterward.
