  • Preheat oven to 350. Grease an oblong pan. Mix Filling ingredients till well blended, set aside.
  • Mix together all dry ingredients; add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Mix until well blended and smooth.
  • Pour batter into pan. Drop Filling mixture onto cake batter by spoonfuls. Bake 30 to 45 minutes.

Special Equipment Needed


Use the "spring back" test method. A toothpick inserted may come back clean if inserted in the correct place, but with the filling, you stand a good chance of it coming back with "batter" on it...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had to make some adjustments to this recipe There was no flour or even cake mix in this recipe. When I mixed the cake ingredients, it had the consistency of chocolate milk. There was no way this recipe would have worked if I hadn’t added flour to make this the consistency of a batter. Please re-work this recipe!
