  • Brownie:
  • MIX sugar, cereal, cocoa and flour in large bowl; blend in egg product, margarine and vanilla.
  • SPREAD in greased 8-inch square baking pan.
  • BAKE at 325°F for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into 2-inch squares.
  • Hot chocolate:
  • PLACE 1 cup water and chocolate in heavy 2-quart saucepan; cook on low heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is blended, stirring constantly with wire whisk.
  • STIR in sugar. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in milk and vanilla. Reduce heat to medium. Cook until mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally.
  • At the time of serving: Place the brownies in a plate or any flat dish and put a scoop of any ice cream (tastes best with vanilla ice cream) and then add the hot chocolate.

Special Equipment Needed

Special Extra: Sprinkle nuts over tops of brownies before serving. Great Substitute: Make this rich, hot chocolate with low fat or fat free milk. It is a delicious warm up to enjoy after a day spent snow skiing or ice skating.
