  • 1) Peel the outer skin off the onion and cut in half, cut both halves so you have rings of onion. Place the onion in a bowl.
  • 2) Knead and squeeze lemons (this makes them easier to squeeze the juice out of). Cut the lemons in half and squeeze all the juice onto the onions. There should be enough juice so the onions can marinade.
  • 3) Add the black pepper. (You can add as much as you like but this does need to be added for the taste.)
  • 4) Stir around a bit and cover with foil and stick in the fridge for about 50 minutes. The more time it spends marinading the better it tastes.
  • 5) Put on a cooked hamburger and enjoy! (Make sure not to put any of the lemon juice on your burger :o).

Special Equipment Needed


This is good on chicken and meat burgers. By putting this onion on your chicken or meat burger it adds an extra zing and taste. This was originally my aunt's idea but I use it all the time.
