  • Mix corn and nuts in a large bowl. Combine butter, Karo, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda and flavorings. Pour over popcorn and mix well.
  • Bake at 250ºF for 1 hour - stir occasionally. I usually stir every 15 minutes. Break into smaller pieces while cooling and enjoy!!!

NOW for some real fun! For flavored and colored corn like you buy at the popcorn stores that is so very expensive, make your own. Take and use any flavoring that you like. I use the Lorann oils that are used in hard crack candies. Use that in place of the teaspoon of maple flavoring. Add the coloring that you desire just before you put in the flavorings. Stir in the coloring well and then add the flavorings that you like. I always use the vanilla plus the other flavors you choose. It helps even out the taste. Otherwise make as usual. If you don’t like peanuts in with your popcorn, don’t add them at all or use different kinds of nuts. I have never tried mixed nuts, but I think it would work out fine.
