  • 1. Prepare 3 sandwiches using mayonnaise and 2 slices of cheese for each. Cut the crusts off the sandwiches. Cut each sandwich diagonally both ways to make 4 triangles.
  • 2. Combine egg, milk, flour and salt.
  • 3. Dip each triangle into egg mixture and then coat with the cornflake crumbs.
  • 4. Deep fry at 375 degrees until brown.
  • 5. Place sandwiches on paper towel lined plate to allow extra oil to drain off, otherwise sandwiches will be soggy.

These fried sandwhiches are famous in Nebraska and Iowa. I have loved them since I was a kid and I still love them as an adult! Great for picky children.
