  • Peel potatoes and dice. Take celery, wash, clean and then dice. Peel and wash onion then dice.
  • Put in a two quart pot and cover with enough water to cover and put on medium heat then bring to boil, or tender with fork touch.
  • In the meantime dice Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs in bite size pieces and set aside. Open can of peas. When potatoes are tender to fork touch add the hot dogs, peas, salt and shake of pepper; stir. I made this recipe just as written for a family get together this past weekend & I brought a lot home with me. I intend to make it again with changes. Next time, I'll try roasting the potatoes instead of boiling, I'll use sour cream instead of mayo & buttermilk & I think I might try it as a warm dish rather than a cold dish. Also, I think I will sprinkle the cheese & bacon on right before serving. This was an okay dish but nothing to write home about

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great recipe! This is a great recipe! I've looked at several other "Loaded Baked Potato Salad" recipes and they all call for sour cream. I wondered if I should add it to this recipe, but it tastes great as is! Adding more bacon, cheese, and chives certainly wouldn't hurt anything. I honestly didn't measure mine and probably added more than the recipe says. It is delicious.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I made this a few weeks ago for our housewarming. I made this a few weeks ago for our housewarming. We were expecting 20 to 30 people so I tripled the recipe. There was very little left and all the comments were positive. I agree 20 minutes is way to long to cook the potaotes. I may try again, but with some tweeks (sour cream instead of mayo and buttermilk). Will add salt and pepper next time also.

I made this for a cook out and it was a BIG hit, I added some salt and pepper and that was it. Now if you are making this for a cook out like I did you need to double if not triple recipe, I made first batch and it was way to small <serve 3-4 people, if potato salad eaters like we are> so I had to make another patch but worth the extra work I had to do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I made this and it was good. I made this and it was good. The second time I changed it up and it was great. Sub light sour cream and turkey bacon to make it healthier. I also had left over roasted potatoes that I used instead of boiling potatoes and it gave it great texture not so mushy like traditional potatoe salad

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YUM! YUM! Made this for a cookout. Doubled it for a large crowd and it was a hit. 20 mins. is too long to boil potatoes though-mine were a bit soft, but it was ok. Used low fat mayo, l-f cheese, and nonfat buttermilk. Also dried chives since I could not find fresh. SO GOOD!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made this for a picnic pot luck. Made this for a picnic pot luck. Took home an empty bowl. Very tastey. Only trouble I had was boiling the potatoes to the right firm-yet-doneness. I think I over cooked them and they fell apart, a little mushed, but the flavor was still delish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was a hit with my WHOLE family & that's a big crowd! This recipe was a hit with my WHOLE family & that's a big crowd!! The only change that I made was serving it warm, which is a lot better than serving it cold but otherwise this has become the go to potato salad for ALL family get-togethers!!! :)
