  • Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs one at a time. Mix well with each egg. Add flavors, add flour alternately with milk, mixing well with each addition, finishing with flour. Stir in cherries.
  • Spoon into well greased and floured tube pan. Do not preheat oven. Bake for 2 1/2 hours at 275°F. Cool.
  • Frost with cherry frosting. Use cherry juice to color and thin frosting to correct consistency for spreading.
