  • Follow soup can directions using water. Once soup has come to a slight boil, lower temp to low/med.
  • Pull the dough to the size you want for your dumpling and roll it in your fingers to make it somewhat round and drop carefully in soup. Once you have all your dumplings in, cook for 15 minutes uncovered on medium heat.
  • Drain chicken. The chicken will be packed so pull it apart some to separate, and then add to soup. Meat is already cooked so once it's soup temperature it's ready to eat!

Special Equipment Needed


Use water instead of milk because it tends to burn in the bottom of the pan. 15 minutes is estimated cooking time for dumplings as it depends on their size. They will swell up to a larger size so just taste for doneness. Cans of chicken make cook time quick but of course you can use boneless chicken breast cut up (cook well first before putting in soup). My family loves this better than homemade so enjoy!

I also did tiny dumplings, about dime size and used leftover chicken that I tore apart into bite-size pieces. My 9 and 3 year old LOVED it, and they usually don't like soup!
