  • Grease or spray with PAM a 2 qt (8x8) casserole dish. In large mixing bowl, combine chicken, mushrooms and water chestnuts. Pour into bottom of dish.
  • In small bowl, combine soup and milk- pour over chicken mixture.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine stuffing mix, water and melted margarine or butter. Spoon over mixture in dish.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes -- longer if it has been refrigerated.


My family loves this recipe. We rate this: EXCELLENT! I generally use the same bowl from start to finish (just rinsing it out each time) to alleviate using three bowls. Sometimes we are in the mood for more "topping" so I adjust accordingly adding more topping and a little more butter & water. Also when I cook the chicken (only cook for about 10 minutes until pink is gone) I sometimes add: salt/pepper/1 chicken bouillon/and some poultry seasoning. It helps to add flavor to the chicken. There are no other seasonings added to the casserole. The soup seasons it.
