  • 1. Melt baking chocolate over simmering water and add to butter and sugar creamed together well.
  • 2. Add milk and flour with the baking soda, baking powder and salt alternately.
  • 3. Then add the well-beaten egg yolks.
  • 4. Beat the egg whites until they are stiff and add to the mixture.
  • 5. Add vanilla.
  • 6. Pour into two well greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
  • 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • 8. While the cake is baking combine all the frosting ingredients in a bowl and stir until well blended.
  • 9. When the cake is completely cool then frost.
