  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Combine all dry ingredients in a LARGE bowl. Melt margarine and add apple sauce, eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix into dry ingredients and work to a "glossy" consistency where the mixture leaves the sides of the bowl clean.
  • Place rounded teaspoons full of mixture out on a greased tray. Gently pat down to maintain consistent size and shape.
  • Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Dry on rack and store the crisp Biscuit in air tight containers.

Special Equipment Needed


Delicious, nutritious and even Daddy loves them! This recipe if for large families or those who entertain. Peanuts, almonds or walnuts may be substituted for the chocolate chips. The biscuit is equally tasty with dried fruit -particularly apricots and is a favorite of people in Rural and Regional Australia where a "snack" has to stick to a mans ribs.
