  • 1) Make the chocolate cake per the instructions on the box and this is to be a layer style cake, 8 inch or 9 inch your choice
  • 2) Make the pudding with a slight twist, use 1 1/2 cups milk and 1/2 cup of Kahlua and finish per instructions.
  • 3) Once the cake is done, wait for it to cool, take one layer and place it is a bowl, upside down and pour 1/4 cup Kahlua over it (the bottom is better since it will absorb the Kahlua better)
  • 4) Then take half the pudding mixture and pour over it and sprinkle with the toffee chips, then half of the Cool Whip.
  • 5) Repeat for the next layer and I just like to sprinkle the remaining toffee chips on top of the Cool Whip again for a pretty finishing touch.
  • 6) I think it is best when you refrigerate overnight.


This is created as a trifle, so to show it off to it off, you really need a trifle bowl to put this in when making it. Now since I usually do this for work, I use my large plastic bowls that are not see through.
