  • Stir sugar, corn syrup, hot water, coloring and pinch of salt well. Put on to cook in heavy kettle - do not stir. Cook to hard crack stage (300-310 degrees F. on candy thermometer).
  • Take off stove. Add 1/2 teaspoon oil flavoring. DO NOT STIR - BUT SHAKE PAN until flavor is mixed.
  • Pour into shallow 8x8 buttered metal pan without spoon. Cut into shapes, and keep cutting until forms shape. When hardened, turn out onto wax paper & break apart (from back side using knife handle tapping works best for me).
