  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter & 2 cups sugar till fluffy. Stir in vanilla; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating just enough after each addition to keep batter smooth.
  • Spoon one third of batter into a greased 10-inch tube pan. Combine cinnamon, nuts, and remaining sugar; sprinkle one third over batter in pan. Repeat layers two more times.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 70 minutes or till cake tests done. Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This cake is good for breakfast. I serve it to my family on Sundays or even on holidays.

    I put this recipe in a regular cake pan and was done in about 1/2 hour. Excellent taste, but a little dry. Very crumbly. Thinking of maybe adding some applesause to make a little moister. First time making a coffee cake. Thanks for the great recipe.
