  • In large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. In a medium bowl, mix sugar, oil, egg, and milk; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
  • Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups about 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees F for 18 - 25 minutes or until muffins test done.
  • Topping: Place melted butter in a small bowl; combine sugar and cinnamon in another small bowl. Immediately after removing muffins from the oven, dip each muffin top in the melted butter and then in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.

Notes

You can also brush the tops of the muffins with the melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon/sugar mixture on top, instead of dipping them.
