1 cup margarine or butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
2/3 cup flaked coconut
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips (3/4 cup)

Cream margarine or butter; add sugar gradually. Blend in egg & vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder & salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Add pecans, cherries, coconut & chocolate chips.
Spread dough in a greased 13 x 9" pan. Bake at 375 degrees about 25 minutes or until bars are firm in center.

I chop cherries in my little electric food chopper. Don't forget to drain liquid from cherries before putting into food chopper. Everyone asks for this recipe when I take it somewhere.
