  • Mix the filling ingredients all together in a big bowl. Roll into tiny balls about 1 inch thick. Cook on stovetop, until done, about 10 minutes. Take out of pan and drain on paper towel. Remove from towel, to clean plate. Cover, and put in fridge.
  • To make blankets, sift flour, baking powder, and salt together; mix well. With fingertips, work in shortening. With fork quickly stir in milk, add more milk, little by little, until the dough is soft and light but not sticky.
  • Turn out onto a floured board. With floured hands, pat down until smooth. Roll lightly till 1/2 inch thick. Cut out rounds and spread half of them with melted butter. Bring out meat balls. Put on buttered sides. Press other rounds lightly on top. Brush with milk. Bake in preheated oven set at 450 degrees, for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve with several dips. Ketchup, bbq,& ranch are all good.
