  • Preheat oven to 350. Using an electric mixer, cream butter & sugar. Add next four ingredients. After measuring flour, sift together with other dry ingredients. Mix well using a wooden or plastic spoon. Dough will be soft & moist (should not be too soft though, if the dough sticks to your hands it is too soft – add a little more flour.)
  • Roll into a ball between palms about the size of a walnut. Roll the ball in sugar then flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Allow room on the cookie sheet for spreading. Sprinkle with decorative sugar if desired.
  • Bake 10-12 min or until lightly browned on edges. Let cool for about 1 min. Remove from cookie sheet and finish cooling on racks. Store in AIR TIGHT container.


Tip: I always place a paper towel in the bottom of the container before putting the cookies in. This helps take out any moisture, which makes for crisp cookies !!
