  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2. Grease tube pan*** and line the bottom with wax paper (do not grease the top of the wax paper).
  • 3. Sift flour & baking powder together and set aside.
  • 4. Measure 1 cup of milk and add flavorings.
  • 5. Cream butter and sugar, and then beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • 6. Add flour mixture and milk, alternating.
  • 7. Mix well.
  • 8. Pour cake mix into a tube pan and place in the center of the oven.
  • 9. Bake 1.5 hours or until done.
  • 10. When cake is done, run a butter knife around the outside edge between the cake and the pan. Allow to cool for approximately 15 minutes.
  • 11. Flip cake upside down and remove the wax paper. Then place the container of cake plate on the bottom and gently flip the cake back over so that the top is showing. Serve plain, with strawberries, and/or glaze on top.

Special Equipment Needed


* Cut 1/2 cup of flour out and add a 1/2 cup of powdered cocoa to make a Chocolate Pound Cake. ** Extracts can be substituted with flavoring. Also, replace 1/2 of vanilla extract with a lemon extract for a delicious Lemon Pound Cake. *** For best results use a tube pan instead of a bundt cake pan or another type of cake pan.
