  • Shred cabbage. Place cabbage, broth, bay leaf, cloves, and garlic in large pot. Bring to boil. Cook gently 10 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
  • Melt butter in another saucepan. Add grated onion and curry powder and cook gently 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in flour and season to taste with salt and cayenne. Carefully blend in milk. Return to heat and stir constantly until sauce boils. Drain cabbage and discard spices. Combine cabbage and sauce. Pour into buttered casserole. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake in 475 degrees F oven for 15 minutes or until top bubbles and is nicely browned.

Special Equipment Needed


Variation: Cut up 1-2 chicken breasts in small pieces and fry in oil or butter, Add to the cabbage casserole before you put it in the oven. Enjoy!
