  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Prick holes in bottom of pie crust. Bake 15 minutes to partially cook.
  • Beat eggnog, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl. Add sugar, salt, and nutmeg; mix well. Pour into pie crust.
  • Bake 25 minutes, then cover with foil and bake 30 to 40 minutes longer or until a knife inserted into center comes out clean.
  • To make topping:
  • Beat whipping cream in small bowl until soft peaks form. Add confectioners' sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form. Garnish pie with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Notes

I found that the deep dish pie crusts work better. The regular crusts can't hold all the filling. Even the deep dish crust shell is filled very full with this recipe. Also, my family actually prefers to eat this pie chilled.
