  • In a large skillet cook sausage, beef and garlic from jar until sausage and beef are no longer pink; drain. Stir in garlic salt, basil, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce. Simmer about 30 minutes.
  • Heat oven 375 degrees F. Cook and drain noodles 3/4 way through directions on package.
  • In medium bowl, mix cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, parsley flakes and black pepper.
  • Spread approx. 1/2 cup of juice from meat mixture on bottom of 9x13 glass baking dish. Layer 6 noodles on bottom, spread approx. 2 cups of meat mixture then 1 1/2 cup of cottage cheese mixture. Repeat noodles, meat mixture and cottage cheese mixture. Layer last of noodles and top with Mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake 40 minutes or until the cheese is slightly brown. Cool 10 minutes before cutting.

Notes

I prefer to cook the noodles 3/4 way through cause they will continue cooking in oven and will be perfect. For this recipe I also prefer Old Folks Italian sausage and Kraft Parmesan cheese and Kraft Mozzarella cheese.
