  • In a large, deep pot, add first 10 ingredients (green onions through ground red pepper), and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, put cornstarch in a medium glass, strain the clam nectar and mix. Set aside.
  • Add clams and bacon to pot. Add half-and half to pot and heat just until steaming (do not boil). Add cornstarch/nectar mixture; heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Serve with sour dough bread!


When Colorado was having an onslaught of snow storms, and the supermarket shelves were bare, I had to improvise on the spot some ingredients from a favorite Clam Chowder recipe! It was so quick and easy, that I only make my version now! I hope you enjoy!
