  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brown ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion in large skillet. If you use extra lean beef, there should be no grease to drain. Add the 2 cans chicken gumbo soup to the meat and stir to combine.
  • Cut the French bread loaf length-wise in half and lay on a foil lined baking sheet. Be sure the foil is long enough to cover the bread while in the oven. Scoop out the insides of both halves of the bread. Fill both halves with the meat mixture. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese and top one side with the Kraft slices. Fold the 2 halves of bread back together to form one loaf and cover with the foil to seal like a "packet".
  • Bake in oven for about 15 minutes just long enough to melt the cheeses and warm the bread. Slice into 6 even portions and enjoy!

Notes

This is a complete meal in itself. It contains the bread, meat and rice in the soup. You can add a can of drained, chopped tomatoes for more veggies. Served with a salad, my family really enjoys this easy weeknight dinner!
