  • Using a non-stick skillet, put margarine and bacon in skillet first. Turn on heat to medium.
  • When margarine starts to melt and bacon starts to sizzle, add green beans. Add water, salt, and pepper.
  • Stirring occasionally - as you stir the beans keep pushing the bacon pieces to the bottom of the skillet. This way the bacon keeps getting browned and the oil from the bacon keeps the beans from sticking to the skillet. Keep cooking till it is done to your taste. I don't worry about slightly burning the beans, some of us like it that way.


This is a little different stir-fry method. The water kind of steams the beans first, then the bacon takes over to fry it. This has a very pronounced bacon flavor.
