  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8" square baking pan.
  • 2. In saucepan over low heat, melt unsweetened chocolate and butter, stirring occasionally. Let cool.
  • 3. In large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Fold in the melted chocolate. Sift together the flour and salt and add to mixture, stirring lightly. Chop the semi-sweet chocolate in coarse chunks and add to the mixture, along with the pecans. Mix until just blended. Pour batter into pan and smooth top.
  • 4. Bake about 25 minutes. Let cool before cutting into bars.


One can substitute favorite nuts in this recipe; I use walnuts instead of the pecans. Also, depending on the oven, one may need to cook the brownies a little longer. Be careful; these guys are addictive! My boyfriend couldn't get enough of these! *To cut some calories out of this rich dessert, omit the nuts and use Splenda in place of regular sugar. In my opinion, it tastes just as good.
