  • Partially melt chocolate over hot water (or in microwave). Remove and stir rapidly until entirely melted. Cool.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Then add to flour mixture. Stir in chocolate until blended.
  • Bake at 300-325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured bundt pan or tube pan. Remove from pan and place under tight cover until thoroughly cold. (Makes its own glaze as it cools. Powdered sugar may also be sprinkled on top after it has cooled.)
