  • Thaw frozen dinner rolls and allow to rise. While rolls are rising, coarsely chop cabbage and place in large saucepan. Bring to a boil, and continue to boil until just tender.
  • While cabbage is boiling, finely dice onion and saute in a large skillet. Remove onions and add beef and sausage. Cook until browned.
  • Drain of juice from cabbage and add cabbage and onions to pan with meat. Continue to cook until everything is combined and cabbage starts to reduce. Salt and Pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  • Take two thawed and risen dinner rolls and work together to make one big roll. Flatten the roll with your hand. Spoon about 2-3 Tbsp. of meat filling in the center, and bring the edges of the roll up around the filling and pinch together making a filled roll. Repeat for remaining rolls.
  • Place filled rolls on a cookie sheet and bake on center oven rack at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes until rolls are golden. Serve warm.

Special Equipment Needed


I like to put butter on top, and some like Swiss cheese inside. I usually omit the onions because I am not a big fan of onions. If you are really ambitious, then you can use homemade roll dough. This makes it even better! Leftover filling can be frozen and used later.
