  • Cook rice for 5-10 min. (= 6 cups), drain and set aside for 2 hours. Mix remaining ingredients with rice except brown sugar, cabbage and tomato soup. Next, steam the heads of cabbage peeling off the leaves, trim off some of the center rib of the cabbage leaf to make them flexible. Mix the brown sugar and water-heat to dissolve (to be mix with soup later). Roll small amounts of meat/rice mixture in cabbage leaf, tuck in ends to hold roll together. Line large covered roasting pan (may have multiple layers). Cover top with remaining leaves. Mix tomato soup, brown sugar to cover rolls. Cook at 400 degrees F for 1/2 hour. Lower temperature to 350 degrees F and cook for approx. 1 1/2- 2 hours depending on the amount made. Averages 20+ rolls.
